'Kalpana' is an opportunity created by Yuva Bharati for dancers to showcase their choreographic prowess, Kalpana, an annual event, takes place around August/September each year and offers a platform for presenting both solo and group choreographies. This opportunity is only for participants who have come to the juncture of choreography in their artistic journey. Features and requirements of Kalpana are:

1. Application: Download, fill out and send application before June 1st. Application must be received via email to yuva_bharati@yahoo.com before May 1st. Download Application Form

2. Membership: Every performer or his/her family MUST be a current member of Yuva Bharati. This means they should have either renewed or taken membership that year.

3. Performance time: 12 minutes maximum.

4. Number of performers: No more than 8 per group.

5. Collaboration: Between dance forms or schools are welcome.

6. Music: Only recorded music. It is the group’s responsibility to adhere to copyright permissions for the chosen music. Yuva Bharati will not be liable for breach of Copyright restrictions if any, on the part of the participants.

7. Type of music and dance: Yuva Bharati is an organization that promotes classical dance and thus the music has to be classical essentially. However, the piece chosen can be from any genre of music, i.e., Carnatic, Hindustani, Instrumental or Vocal.

8. Priority for items: items are assigned on a first come first served basis. Thus the item chosen by the team would not be final until its availability is confirmed by Yuva Bharati.

9. Communication: communication regarding any changes or updates will be made by Yuva Bharati ONLY to the contact email addresses provided in the application form. It is the responsibility of the primary contact person to pass on updates to the rest of their team.
